in the magazine class with professor theron moore. i am going to do a magazine on jazz. (not smooth or soft yuck). I hope it turns out well. I am just stuk on the name. i don't want it to sound like a magazine just for musicians.

a run-in with a cab driver

I got to go to San Diego with my brother, my sister-in-law and my mom. It was pretty cool. One night we went to this one part of San Diego, I can't remember the name but we were by the Midway. anyway we asked these people in a store where we could find some good seafood. this lady told us that there was a place just past the Midway and that it was a reasonable price, and not to far of a walk - HA! she must have been a marathon runner or something. so we walked and walked and walked... and then walked a little more. finally we got to it and found the menu outside displaying expensive prices... so my brother suggested that we take a taxi back to where we were. it wasn't to far by car, so the price would be around 5$ or 6$ for all of us. We saw a hotel across the street with taxis all lined up. Now keep in mind this hotel was NOT the hotel that we were staying at. So we go up to one of the cab drivers standing outside his cab, and ask him about how much it will be to get back to that place we were at. He said "ohh about 5$" and told a cab driver that was already in his car where we were going. My brother got in the front seat and the three of us got in the back. My brother decided to double check with this new cab driver, "so, it's going to be around 5$ right?" the cab driver got really angry, "don't try to make a deal with me!" He points to the hotel in front of him and says, "you are staying in a 200$ a night hotel and you want to make a 5$ deal!?" right away my brother said, "you know, we're not interested." "then get the hell out of my cab!" So we promptly got out of that cab and walked back. As we were waking the first cab driver yelled "hey I can give you a ride!" "no, were fine." my brother replied. we walked back and found a cheaper seafood restaurant. ...it wasn't good.
ha ha but other than all that the rest of the trip was fun.

Apartments AHHH!

So I just spent 5 hours with Cara and Kim looking for an apartment. We found one really close to AJ and Mike on orangefair. But like the owner said, the parking sucks! ha ha I like it though that he was honest.
we've looked all over Fullerton, it is so hard but we know the Lord will provide. I personally would love a place with good parking so that people can visit. I feel that is what the Lord wants for me. I am still in school and college students are still my ministry so I want it to be easier for them to come over.

We did see an add in the penny saver for a 2 bed 1.5 bath for about 1150. The add was in Spanish :) but it sounds like it might be a good deal and its real close to school! yo no se! Just gotta keep on trusting God. You guys can pray for us all. I know we are all kind of picky on where we want to live and what we are looking for, but I know also that the Lord can and will provide.

So merry Christmas by the way!

Last weekend I went to Las Vegas for two nights! I stayed at the new Wynn Hotel on the 16th floor. AMAZING! --My bathroom was bigger than my bedroom at the train station! with a plasma TV. The bedroom was bigger than our living room and kitchen and had a bigger plasma TV! Ooh oh! And Warhol prints for the room art, not stupid prints of sailboats but actually a good taste in art.

I was there babysitting my two nieces and my nephew, while their parents had their company party. Ok so the last time I did this I only had my two nieces because my nephew hadn't been born yet. Well I forgot he was born 9 months ago. So the day that I was going to drive down there with my dad, step-mom and my step aunt and uncle, Dianne, my step-mom says to me "So you remember that Gene and Kristine have a little boy now!?" my eyes grew wide, "uh yeah!" so now I was in charge of 2 kids and a baby! I babysat Friday night and Saturday, boy was that tiring, 17 hours total. But I couldn't have asked for a better baby. He was really a good kid. That didn't mean it was easy. It made me think... And I think I can empathize with Faye who baby-sits everyday! All in all it was good!

*Sigh* I really shouldn't watch those romantic films, even if they are classic... Ahh Mr. Darcy! So dashing, so handsome! (He has an accent too!) I always walk out of the movie theatre feeling as though I were a part of that story. (It took me about ten minutes to stop thinking with a British accent) I stepped into Elizabeth’s shoes, and I can't seem to get out of them. *Sigh*

I am in Oklahoma right now for those of you that didn't know. I am with my family. It’s pretty chill here. I was getting ready to go to the movie as my step-dad was watching the local news in the other room. I overheard them repot that a lady's purse was stolen! Wow. You don’t see that everyday! I’ll remember to lock my door next time I drive downtown. Jenna said that they came to the college she works at to report on the fire alarm that went off due to a mishap in the biology lab! Boy they really get on the scene!

Ahh, this week has been good. I learned some good stuff at church on Tuesday, going to eat some turkey tomorrow, had a Sonic burger, Killed my brother at Super Smash bros., was "nuzzled" by my "Oklahoma Best Friend," went to the movies twice and saw OKC in one of the movies, was hugged back by my un-huggable sister –Johanna (her boyfriend has changed her for the better! ahh Michael you are a good man!), and will finally meet him face to face on Friday! Oh and by the way here is a picture of when I first met him.
